GEMS from HEAVEN: Revelation 4:3; 21:10-21
The older one gets the more they think about their mortality. For some, they just continue as they are accepting the fact that death will come sooner or later and that’s it. For others, they fight the thoughts of it by sinking themselves into drugs, alcohol, partying and materialism. They are the “eat, drink and be merry for tomorrow we die” crowd. In either situation, death is reigning in their lives.
Here is the GEM: those who are in Christ, they are reigning in life. They are empowered by God’s abundant grace to enjoy life whether rich or poor because their hope is solely in Him. They realize that there is something far greater after this life. So, they look for the blessed hope of the appearing of their Savior, Christ Jesus. If you want to know what it is like reigning in life, you must be in the Christ.
For if by the transgression of the one, death reigned through the one, much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.
