GEMS from HEAVEN: Revelation 4:3; 21:10-21
During heavy rains, hail, snow, and extreme heat, we seek a place of protection. We build walls, security gates, and steel doors etc. to protect ourselves from those who would do us harm.
Here is the GEM: the true source of protection against the elements and the ills of our society is God. He is able to protect us not only from the physical disasters but also from the spiritual devastation of our soul. We are told over and over to seek Him while He may be found. He desires for us to turn to Him for the protection in life that we need, especially for the sake of our soul. There is none like Him.
I will say to the LORD, "My refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust!" For it is He who delivers you from the snare of the trapper and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with His pinions, and under His wings you may seek refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and bulwark.
