GEMS From HEAVEN
There is no doubt that it is hard to do something for someone when they do not appreciate it. Or, when it does not work out the way we intended. All so often we end up grumbling and complaining about it.
Here is the GEM: as children of God, our hope is not in what people will or will not do, it is in what of the word of life teaches us to do and be. Our goodness and kindness whether appreciated or not, we are to be lights showing our generation the right way to be. Before we obeyed the gospel, some of us did not fully appreciate Christ’s sacrifice for us. Now that we do, we strive to show it by emulating Him who did not grumble or dispute that His death would go unappreciated by some.
Do all things without grumbling or disputing; so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world, holding fast the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I will have reason to glory because I did not run in vain nor toil in vain.
Philippians 2:14-16
