GEMS From HEAVEN
Have you ever been so desperate for something that you were willing to do whatever it took to get it, even to the point of embarrassing yourself? I hear that is the way grandparents are with their grandchildren. They gladly do what it takes to have them be around them and to make their experiences as joyous as possible.
Here is the GEM: we must recognize the paralyzing and destructive effects of sin in our lives and then desperately seek the Lord for His cure. We must be willing to do what it takes to get to Him so He can remove our sins, even if others may disapprove of His commands for us. The Lord may not be physically present on the earth, but He through the Spirit has given instructions on how to get to Him so that we may be forgiven of our. The beauty of it is that He is immediately accessible through our obedience to His gospel call. So, what is keeping you from Him and the forgiveness that He provides?
And when they could not get near him because of the crowd, they removed the roof above him, and when they had made an opening, they let down the bed on which the paralytic lay. And when Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Son, your sins are forgiven."
